About Gozo

Gozo is the perfect "getaway" island to escape to at any time of the year. You may even combine a Gozo holiday with your Malta stay. Warm and friendly people, beautiful countryside and fantastic weather all year round make it an ideal holiday destination. Greener, more rural and smaller than Malta, life on Gozo moves at a leisurely pace.

The rhythms dictated by the seasons, fishing and agriculture. In winter and spring, the Island is covered with flowering herbs and lush crops. In summer, its awash with oleander, bougainvillea and geranium.

Gozo is steeped in myth. Thought to be the legendary Calypsos isle of Homers Odyssey, its a peaceful, mystical backwater. Its rugged landscape and spectacular coastline await exploration.

Choose from rocky inlets to red sand beaches or sail, snorkel, dive and fish. Gozo has some of the Mediterraneans best dive sites.

But theres more. Gozo comes complete with historical sites, forts and amazing panoramas. Plus one of the archipelagos best-preserved prehistoric temples, Ggantija.

Picturesque villages with imposing baroque parish churches and charming farmhouses dot the countryside.

Getting to Gozo

We can organise transport for you directly from Malta International Airport to your accommodation, (Taxi - Ferry - Accommodation) or we can collect you from Mgarr Harbour (Gozo). If you are making your own way across the channel, the ferry trip takes approximately 25 minutes from Cirkewwa, (Malta) during which you sail past Comino with its glorious Blue Lagoon, just visible through a narrow entrance in the rock coastline.

The ferry fare is payable on your return trip to Malta and costs Lm1.75/person. (Lm5.75 car+driver)

Alternatively you can take the helicopter service from Malta International Airport, a trip which normally takes 10 to 15 minutes. There are regular flights seven days a week. We can then collect you directly from the heliport at Xewkija (Gozo).

Please book/enquire about fares directly with Air Malta as there may be seasonal variations.

Getting Around in Gozo.

Gozo is a small island, with a road network radiating to most of the outlying villages from Victoria. It is quite easy to get around, with roads being well signposted. The local bus service provides transport from Rabat to most of the outlying villages at a very small cost. However, buses can be infrequent, stop early in the evening, and do not travel to the less populated areas, so car hire is definitely recommended as it enables one to explore the more picturesque places, mainly found off the beaten track.

Compared to most holiday destinations car hire in Gozo is cheap. As a service to our guests, we can pre-arrange for a car to be available upon your arrival, to ensure a care-free holiday.
